Ubisoft's mythology-themed open-world game Immortals Fenyx Rising has gone gold, meaning that it is ready to be printed on discs. Formerly known as Gods and Monsters--a change that possibly came due to a legal challenge from drink company Monster Energy--Fenyx Rising stars a customizable player avatar that plays a pivotal role in the ongoing war between the Olympian Gods and the Titans.

A demo of the game is currently available on Google Stadia. Based on pre-release footage and impressions, Immortals Fenyx Rising has obvious similarities to other Ubisoft franchises, particularly Assassin's Creed. However, the game also borrows many ideas from Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, which offered a radically-different take on the existing open-world framework. For example, the game includes a take on Breath of the Wild's climbing system.
