Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann sat down to have a chat with the Official Playstation Magazine to talk about the future of The Last of Us franchise and the supposed upcoming Sequel. It looks like they're already deep in deliberation about what The Last of Us 2 will entail.
Even better, it seems, is that Druckmann and Bruce Straley were even discussing even more ideas for new IP's around fantasy and science fiction foundations.
"The answer is - and this is totally honest, and I've said this in the past - that when Bruce (Straley) and I moved over to Uncharted 4, we were brainstorming ideas for The Last Of Us 2 with new characters; ideas for TLOU 2 with Joel and Ellie; ideas for a sci-fi game; ideas for a fantasy game, and building prototypes for each one of those ideas. And just as we were getting close to settling or narrowing that list down, we were asked to work on Uncharted 4."

So while Nolan North and Josh Scher might have accidentally let the cat out of the bag a little too early, it's safe to say that the sequel is under development, at least in the very early of stages. When can we expect an official announcement? Since the idea itself is still in development, it might be a few months before we see some actual footage, or get real details about what it entails.
