Buoyed by the huge success of the inexpensive Deer Hunter, WizardWorks is going to publish a sequel - Deer Hunter II - with 3D graphics, enhanced weather effects, "ultrarealistic deer behavior," new weapons and new accessories.
Twelve new hunting locations will feature Pennsylvania Hills, Washington Mountain Forests, a target range, and Georgia Rolling Woodlands among others. Thirteen tools, like different kinds of scent, decoys, and GPS units, will be offered. Nine weapons in the game will include the semi-auto and pump-action shotguns, bolt action rifle with scope, longbow, compound bow, crossbow with scope, muzzle loader, and .44 mag revolver with scope.
"Deer Hunter created a whole new genre in the entertainment software industry, and we believe Deer Hunter II will elevate this genre with its mass market price point and 3D technology," said Paul Rinde, senior vice president of product acquisition and development of WizardWorks. "This is the 3D hunting game Deer Hunter fans have been waiting for. It gives gamers a whole new interactive hunting experience with outstanding 3D graphics; it's a completely different hunt compared to the original Deer Hunter and one of the largest interactive hunting areas of any hunting game with a new 49-square-mile layout for each location."
Developed by Sunstorm Interactive and published by GT Interactive, Deer Hunter II should be available this October for around US$20.
