2011's Hugh Jackman movie Real Steel, which featured an advertisement for the Xbox 720, is set to become a TV series, according to a new report. Collider heard from sources that Disney is in "early development" on a new Real Steel show for Disney+.

The key players from the original movie had to sign new deals for the TV series, according to the report. Those contracts are now finalized and Disney is looking for a writer now, the report said.

Real Steel was directed by Shawn Levy before he worked on Stranger Things and Free Guy more recently. Jackman plays a father who is re-connecting with his son through robot-fighting. Anthony Mackie, Evangeline Lilly, and Hope Davis also starred in the film, which made more than $299 million globally.

Whether or Jackman would appear in the TV series, should it be confirmed, remains to be seen. Keep checking back for the latest.

As for what's already confirmed for Disney+, some of the content coming in 2022 includes Moon Knight, Willow, and the Obi-Wan TV show, among others.
