Back in March 2016, Frogwares, the team behind the Sherlock Holmes adventure games, announced a new open world investigation game based on H.P. Lovecraft works called The Sinking City. Not much has been said about the game since its original announcement, but a few hours ago the first gameplay footage finally emerged online.
The Sinking City pre-alpha gameplay footage can be found in a recently released video which gives players the first update on the development.
Our first update on our new game The Sinking City. Take a look at how production is coming along, and catch a glimpse of Oakmont city.
For the first time, we are presenting pre-alpha footage from the game itself, showing you what the world of The Sinking City will look and feel.
The Sinking City is going to be Frogwares' biggest title, bringing the team's trademark investigation features in a more extensive setting.
It’s bigger than what we’ve ever made and we feel it’s the right next step for us, bringing the investigations to be free and opened in the city. We also believe that Lovecraft universe, Cthulhu Mythos is the right setting for the game.
The Lovecraft/Cthulhu setting has been dear to us for years. In 2016, we’ll celebrate the 10 years of Sherlock Holmes the Awakened, a Sherlockian/Lovecraftian adventure, a game that was seen as a milestone in narrative adventure gaming back then.
The Sinking City has yet to receive a release window. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
