From November 20-November 22, all Xbox Live Gold members can play the full version of NBA 2K16 entirely free. In addition, the game will be on sale the following week. What's more, all progress (including Achievements) earned during the free play period will carry forward to the full game.
The free play period for NBA 2K16 officially begins at 9 AM PST on November 20 and runs through 11:59 PM PST on November 22. Players will be able to find the game in the Gold Member (not an Austin Powers reference) area of the Xbox One dashboard; alternatively, the game can be downloaded from Xbox.com.
The game's file size is 44.89 GB.
NBA 2K16 was released at the end of September and shipped 4 million copies in under one week. It still has work to do to match the success of its predecessor, as NBA 2K15 has shipped 7 million copies.
GameSpot's NBA 2K16 review scored the game an 8/10.
"Few sports games come close to providing a more authentic and fun virtual representation of the real thing, and even if this is the least user-friendly entry in years, I can't stop playing it," reviewer Josiah Renaudin said.
NBA 2K16 is available now for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. A free companion app, MyNBA 2K16, is also available now on iTunes and Google Play.
