A new Hogwarts Legacy patch went live yesterday on PC, promising to bring, among other things, performance improvements. Unfortunately, it's clear that there's still plenty of work to be done, as performance is far from being fixed.

　　New comparison videos shared on YouTube by 54 FPS and Lootward highlight how frame times are still inconsistent across different system configurations, leading to annoying stuttering issues that damage the experience. In some situations, performance seems to have worsened with the new patch, so it's clear how Avalanche Software still has a lot of work ahead to fix their game for low-end configurations.

　　It's a shame Hogwarts Legacy's performance is so uneven, as the game by Avalanche Software is, by far, the best digital version of the Wizarding World, as highlighted by Chris in his review of the game.

　　Hogwarts Legacy is, for better or worse, an entertaining and engaging game. By far the best digital version of the wizarding world, it offers a vast swathe of things to do. Even the more mundane elements (bandit camps!) are improved by a robust combat system that genuinely makes you feel like you're a part of the Harry Potter universe.

　　Hogwarts Legacy is now out on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S worldwide. The game will release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 4th and on Nintendo Switch later this year, on July 25th.
