Hines: Everyone at Bethesda Is Really Excited for E3, But We Won’t Spoil The Showcase Duration; Expect Multiple Surprises-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 8:26 AM

We're now about two days away from Bethesda's E3 2018 Showcase event (live streamed via Twitch, YouTube, and Bethesda's own social media channel on June 10th, 6:30 PM Pacific time) and Pete Hines, Senior VP of Global Marketing and Communication, talked about it via Twitter.

He had previously said it would be the longest showcase ever done by Bethesda; however, he won't provide an exact duration in order to avoid spoiling some of the fun of watching the presentation live.

we never say beforehand. takes some of the fun out of it.

Hines then proceeded to fuel the hype, noting that while it is an exhausting time for developers everyone at Bethesda is really excited about this year's E3. He even openly said fans can count on multiple surprises for the Showcase.

You might not know that many folks at game companies tend not to get very excited about E3. It's a ton of hard work and stress. And it's completely exhausting.

But this year, I've noticed we (Bethesda) are all really excited about E3. It's kinda weird, and fun, and nice. pic.twitter.com/o2QED7JWLP

they're not, but when it's all said and done I think we'll manage to offer lots of surprises you'll enjoy.

  definitely, more than one

These surprises should, therefore, be in addition to the already announced Rage 2 (a partnership between id Software and Avalanche Studios) and Fallout 76, though of course we still have to get any official details about the next Fallout title.

Possible surprises include a Prey expansion or standalone title (ala Dishonored: Death of the Outsider), a Wolfenstein II expansion or standalone title (ala Wolfenstein: The Old Blood) and maybe even a new DOOM game. Also, some Bethesda Game Studios fans speculate that the highly rumored sci-fi themed new IP Starfield could still be showcased if it turned out that Fallout 76 has been mostly developed by BattleCry Studios (now Bethesda Austin).

We'll know soon enough now. Stay tuned on Wccftech for all the latest updates from E3 2018!
