[UPDATE] Fox has removed the video.
The original story is below.
Deadpool was 2016's biggest cinematic surprise--the relatively inexpensive, R-rated movie about a foul-mouthed superhero went on to make $782 million worldwide and stands as the single biggest film in the X-Men universe. The movie has been nominated for this year's Key Art award, which rewards "outstanding achievement in artwork and other promotional materials advertising movies."
In typical Deadpool style, the masked hero himself--played once more by Ryan Reynolds--has released a new video to explain exactly why the film is deserving of the prize. Check it out below:
Following the movie's massive success, a sequel is on the way. Deadpool 2 is scheduled for an early 2018 release, with Tim Miller returning to the director's chair. While little is known about the second film, it has been confirmed that time-travelling mercenary Cable will feature.
While no name has been attached to the role as yet, Avatar star Stephen Lang has already revealed his desire to play Cable. Earlier this year, the actor said in a now-deleted tweet: "Let's lay some CABLE. You know I want it. This is pre-training. Thanks for spreading the word."
Deadpool 2 is currently set for release on January 12, 2018.
