Currently there are two options on the PlayStation Store in Europe. The first, a US Marines Outfit Pack, is available for £3.99 and allows owners to "customise your agent like a US Marine with this armed force themed pack." It contains a total of four "unique camoflauged-patterned outfits."

The second options is the Military Specialists Outfit Pack, which is also £3.99. It features "four iconic military looks." allowing owners to sport a Delta Force, Pilot, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, or Sniper look.

Ubisoft has been vague about the full extent of its microtransactions plans, and changed its position a few times.

Ubisoft first discussed the idea of microtransactions for The Division in 2014. At the time, Ubisoft Massive managing director David Polfeldt said the studio was "definitely" looking at allowing players to be able to pay to speed up their progress.

"Some things require time in the game and some people don't want to invest time; they want the shortcut. So we're looking at those types of trades," he said.

In January 2016, creative director Magnus Jansen confirmed plans for shortcut microtransactions had been scrapped.

"It was under consideration, but it never made it into the game," he explained. "So there won't be any microtransactions like that. No shortcuts."

The Division will offer extra paid content beyond the base game in the form of multiple expansion packs.

Ubisoft has high hopes for the game, and believes it could join Destiny, Watch Dogs, and Assassin's Creed to become of the biggest new IP launches ever.

GameSpot's The Division review will not go live until we've had an opportunity to complete the campaign and Dark Zones, as well as explore everything else the game has to offer.
