Famous Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the series, has weighed in with his verdict on the just-released spinoff, Rogue One. Writing on Twitter, Hamill showered the Gareth Edwards-directed film with praise. Specifically, he said the casting is spot-on and said Rogue One is "ingenious" for how it "deepens and expands" the wider Star Wars film franchise.

　　Star Wars creator George Lucas also apparently likes Rogue One quite a lot.

　　Rogue One, the first of multiple planned Star Wars spinoffs, is out now in theaters. It made $29 million from its midnight showings on Thursday and is expected to bring in $150 million or more in the US alone this weekend when all is said and done.
