YouTube today announced the top "trending" games on the platform for March 2016. Leading the way was The Division, with Mortal Kombat X, Clash Royale, EA Sports UFC 2, and Dark Souls III rounding out the top five. You can see the full list of YouTube's top 10 trending games for the month below.
The game ranking is based on "fastest growth in watch time" as well as the volume of YouTube users making videos about them. YouTube did not share specifics about viewership or video upload numbers for any of the games, so we don't know how big the gap is between the top two, or any of the others.
Still, it's not all that surprising that The Division sits atop the list. It broke sales records for Ubisoft and the industry overall, passing Bungie's Destiny, having made $330 million in its first five days.
One game that stands out is Subnautica (No. 9), a title that was also a top trending game on YouTube in January this year. The open-world survival game launched on PC in 2014 and comes to Xbox One this month. "Could this be YouTube Gaming's next open-world survival phenomenon?" YouTube wondered.
