Ninja Theory, the team behind some interesting action games such as Enslaved and the Devil May Cry series reboot Dmc - Devil May Cry and others, has been working on Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice for quite some time, planning to release the game this year. Unfortunately, things won't go as planned, as Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will only launch next year.
In a new Production Update video, Ninja Theory confirmed that progress hasn't been as fast as they hoped. Developing the game independently, the team has the freedom to decide on the release and, as such, decided to delay the game so to not compromise its quality.
Our progress on Hellblade has not been as fast as we would have liked. One of the reasons we're creating Hellblade independently is because it puts decisions in our hands. Rushing the game out for release or compromising on quality is not something we are willing to entertain.
A release date or even a release window haven't been confirmed, but the team will keep us updated on the matter as soon as something new is available.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is currently in development for PC and PlayStation 4. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
