A TV series based on the 2016 film Hell Or High Water, which was written by Yellowstone's Taylor Sheridan, is in the works at Fox, according to Variety.
The movie followed the story of two bank-robber brothers, played by Chris Pine and Ben Foster. In the TV series proposal, a ruthless oil tycoon is trying to take over a West Texas ranching community, and this is where the two brothers come in. "Two local brothers dodge a zealous Texas Ranger and fight to keep what’s theirs, one bank robbery at a time, come hell or high water," reads a line from its description.
Fox has ordered the hour-long drama to series with Stranger Thing's Jessica Mecklenburg lined up to write and executive produce. Other behind-the-scenes talent from the movie, including director David Mackenzie, are involved with the TV version.
The movie version of Hell Or High Water also starred Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham. It earned four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Editing, Best Supporting Actor (Bridges), and Best Original Screenplay (Sheridan).
As for Sheridan, he wrote Sicario and starred on Sons of Anarchy as an actor. He later created the TV shows Yellowstone and its prequel, 1883. Sheridan also created the series Mayor of Kingstown.
