SegaSoft Networks and Affinity Internet Holdings PLC have teamed up to bring Europe.HEAT.net to the United Kingdom this summer and then take on the rest of Europe.
HEAT.net, which already boasts 1.8 million members in North America, will launch in the UK with support for 22 games, including Quake II and Baldur's Gate. The free gaming service will then widen its boundaries to Switzerland, Holland, Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Italy by early next year. After a 30-day trial period, high-speed gameplay will only be possible by using Europe.HEAT.net's exclusive dial-up connection from EGO Maniacs.net's sister company, Virtual Internet Provider, Ltd.
