It's a sad day for the folks, who are probably few and far between, that don't have Hearthstone closed beta keys. The game's Production Director, Jason Chayes, announced today that the game's open beta will be delayed until sometime after January 7th, 2014.

Players that have opted-in to the Hearthstone closed beta through their Battle.net accounts before December, 16th will receive a beta key via email sometime today.
Chayes remarked that his team thinks, "the right thing to do for the game is to not rush it out into open beta, but to instead hold onto it a little longer to make sure it’s ready for wider testing. At BlizzCon, we mentioned that we hoped to get the game into a state where it’s ready for open beta this month, but we’re just not quite there yet."
