　　HBO also made the first episode of the Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon free for a period of time to help drum up interest in the series.

　　Episode 1 is nearly as long as movie, clocking in at 1 hour and 20 minutes. The first episode follows the events of the game, beginning with Joel (Pedro Pascal) and his daughter Sarah (Nico Parker) before a time jump to when he meets a 14-year-old girl named Ellie (Bella Ramsey).

　　Episode 2, "Infected," aired on January 22, and it featured a horrifying climax. New episodes air Sunday nights on HBO and HBO Max, running up to the Season 1 finale on March 12. HBO recently announced that The Last of Us will return for a second season.
