HBO added to PSN
HBO added to PSN-October 2024
Oct 31, 2024 5:41 PM

Taking another step toward realizing the "It only does everything" marketing tagline, Sony announced a partnership with Time Warner this week that has made HBO programming available on the PlayStation 3 and PSP.

Original HBO programs available today in the PlayStation Store include seasons one and two of True Blood, seasons one through three of Big Love, seasons one and two of Entourage, season one of Eastbound and Down, and multiple seasons of The Sopranos, among other HBO programming. Rome, True Blood, and The Sopranos are the premium programs of the lot and bear a $2.99 price tag per episode. Episodes of all other shows are $1.99 per episode. According to Sony, additional titles and seasons will become available every week.

The Sopranos have visited Sony's system once before. But it's best not to bring that up… Sony has been aggressive in adding new content partners for its PSN video store. In March, the PS3 maker wrapped up HD support from all six major American motion picture studios: 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. The publisher has also signed deals with Netflix and MLB.TV to offer their streaming video services through the PS3.
