Harry Styles Was Going To Star In Upcoming Nosferatu Movie-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 11:31 PM

Director Robert Eggers has made a name for himself with his modern horror classics The Witch and The Lighthouse and with his historical epic, The Northman premiering in theatres in late April. Eggers' next project is a remake of the 1922 Nosferatu, though production has yet to begin. Sitting down with the New Yorker talking about The Northman, he mentioned he had lost one of his stars.

At the time of the interview, Eggers was supposed to be in Prague as he had been scheduled to move there to begin preparing a remake of Nosferatu. Eggers had already co-directed a stage production of the film in high school. He would be working again with Ana Taylor-Joy, who also starred in his first feature film The Witch.

Along with Taylor-Joy, who had been part of the production since 2017, Harry Styles had been cast, but at the last minute, he pulled out, citing "scheduling concerns." Styles made his theatrical debut with Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk back in 2017 and is a recent addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Eros, or Starfox, Thanos' brother. Styles has two more feature films lined up, My Policeman and Don't Worry Darling. Both are scheduled for release this year.

The 1922 classic has been remade a few times, most notably in 1974 by Werner Herzog starring famed Polish actor Klaus Kinski as Count Orlock.

The Northman is scheduled to hit theaters April 22.
