Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe will be an executive producer on an upcoming documentary about his stunt double who was paralyzed after a filming accident on The Deathly Hallows.

　　Radcliffe will also appear in the film, David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived, speaking to the documentary crew about his friend and stunt double.

　　The documentary is described as a coming-of-age story about Holmes, who was hired to be Radcliffe's stunt double on the original Harry Potter film. Throughout the years, he and Radcliffe became friends as they made the sequels. Tragedy struck during the filming of The Deathly Hallows Part 1, when Holmes crashed to the ground when rehearsing a flying scene. He was left paralyzed from the chest down from his serious spinal injury.

　　The film will feature "candid personal footage" and scenes of Holmes' life today. In addition to an interview with Radcliffe, the movie will feature interviews with Holmes' family, friends, and crew who worked on the Harry Potter series over the years.

　　David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived is directed by Dan Hartley and will premiere on November 15 on HBO, while it will stream on Max as well.

　　The Harry Potter series will continue with a seven-season TV show for Max. Controversial author J.K. Rowling is involved as an executive producer. Radcliffe, who has spoken out against Rowling's statements about the trans community, has said he is not interested in making more Harry Potter content.

　　The mainline Harry Potter series ended in 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2. The Harry Potter spin-off movie series Fantastic Beasts debuted in 2016, but the latest installment stalled out and the future of the series is uncertain.

　　The video game Hogwarts Legacy proved to be a gigantic commercial success. It is 2023's best-selling game in the US so far. The success of Hogwarts Legacy demonstrates the massive ongoing appeal of the Harry Potter series, management has said.
