Hand of the Gods, the game created by the same team behind SMITE, will be going into closed beta today on consoles, the team announced.
Xbox Live and PlayStation Plus subscribers not only will receive automatic beta access but also 5 free card packs to start building their decks. A trailer has also been released, and you can check it out below.
Hand of the Gods: SMITE Tactics is a turn-based, one-vs-one strategy game set in the same mythological universe as the hit MOBA, SMITE. Players build decks of cards that spawn units onto a fully 3D battlefield, rendered with Unreal Engine 4. Each pantheon has its own unique leader ability and pantheon specific cards that can be combined with neutral cards to support a variety of playstyles.
Hand of the Gods is also available as an Early Access game on Steam as a free to play game. According to the game's Steam page, all progress will carry over once the game is out of Early Access.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We patch the game very frequently, and you will see it improve as additional content is added consistently over time. We will officially launch the game once we feel it is ready. All of your progress and purchases will be carried over from the Beta (Early Access) into the full release.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“We are adding tons of content with every patch. By the time the game goes live, players can expect a host of awesome new Cards and in-game content.”
