Halo Wars 2 was first showcased via a leak on the Xbox store page two days ago. We got the chance to check the first screenshots of the real time strategy game developed by Creative Assembly and 343 Industries for Xbox One and PC; the leak also confirmed that a beta should be available from June 13 (likely just after the end of Microsoft's E3 2016 Briefing) to June 20.
However, a new leak just popped. Neogaf user Gwyn, who also leaked the first Dead Rising 4 screenshots, managed to take a peek at the Halo Wars 2 trailer before Microsoft removed the assets from the site.
His first post mentioned that the Halo Wars 2 campaign looked awesome and the release date was moved to February 2017 (the game was originally scheduled for Q4 2016). In a second post, he clarified that the release date is February 21 and that there will be a Season Pass. Gamers will be able to choose between two different editions, with the Deluxe possibly priced at $80 and including the Season Pass.
Tomorrow we should know a lot more about Halo Wars 2, including the gameplay features introduced in this sequel. Stay tuned on Wccftech for all the latest news coming out of E3 2016.
