Halo TV Show Sets New Records At Paramount+
Halo TV Show Sets New Records At Paramount+-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 11:24 PM

The Halo TV series, which just premiered on March 24, is doing big numbers for Paramount+. It launched on March 24 and set a new record for the most-watched series premiere worldwide in its first 24 hours on Paramount+. The previous record-holder was the Yellowstone prequel 1883.

Paramount+ did not share any specific numbers, but Deadline--which was first to report the news--said we should learn more when Nielsen releases its new streaming numbers.

"Bringing Halo to life as a streaming series has been one of the most rewarding efforts for Paramount+ to date and we could not be more thrilled at the massive fan response to the series' debut," Paramount boss Tanya Giles said. "Along with our phenomenal partners at Showtime, 343 Industries, and Amblin Television, we cannot wait for fans to experience more of this incredible universe."

Halo has already been renewed for a second season, but showrunners Steven Kane and Kyle Killen are dropping out. Pablo Schreiber, who plays Master Chief, is expected to return for Season 2.

The TV series reportedly cost $10 million per episode, making it one of the more expensive TV shows ever produced. A budget on that level puts it close to Game of Thrones.

The Halo series was originally announced for Showtime before it shifted to Paramount+. For more, check out GameSpot's Halo show review and the 12 Easter eggs you may have missed in Episode 1.

As for Halo Infinite, Season 2: Lone Wolves is launching May 3 with new maps and modes. Unfortunately, however, campaign co-op has been delayed further.
