Actor Pablo Schreiber plays Master Chief in the upcoming TV series, which is getting its first full-length trailer during The Game Awards this evening. A new image from the show has been released ahead of that, while Schreiber has shared some insight into how he got into character.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Schreiber said it was a "herculean task" to play Master Chief, in part because of his intense workout schedule to get shredded to play the famous Xbox hero.

Now Playing: Halo Infinite Campaign Review
"It's a huge job, from setting the tone on set down to the grueling task of waking up at the crack of dawn to work out, then go to shoot, and go home to work out some more. Nothing about it is easy, and I wouldn't want it to be," he said.
Schreiber said the Halo series will be a "classic hero's journey" that will "crack the veneer" of Master Chief. "It takes place very much in the universe that the video games created, but it's a TV show. We get to expand that universe and create stories in it. There's going to be some new characters that are introduced, there's going to be a lot of familiar characters that everyone will know from the game," he said.

Regarding his training, Schreiber worked with Hollywood personal trainer Eddie Raburn to help get in shape for the big-time video game TV show. He did dune sprints, push-ups, and ran with ropes as part of his routine.
The new image shows Schreiber in his full Master Chief costume that looks very faithful to the games. Check back in tonight to watch the full trailer for the Halo series during The Game Awards.
Following the release of Halo Infinite's multiplayer in November, the campaign is out now across Xbox, console, and PC. For more, check out GameSpot's Halo Infinite campaign review.
