Halo: The Master Chief Collection developer 343 Industries recently stated that the game would have a "new place and way to play" soon, prompting speculation that the game might be releasing on a new platform or store. However, that doesn't appear to be the case. In a new blog post, the studio clarified that this new way to play is not that exciting, but it's still a big deal for MCC.
This "new way to play" is actually a Custom Game Browser that is expected to go live for testers are soon as Thursday, February 18.
The Custom Game Browser is one of MCC's most-anticipated features, and it's been in the works for a long time, so it's satisfying to know it's almost here.
As its name suggests, this will allow players to select a custom game and hop into it, which is a nice option to have considering the immense creativity and passion of the Halo community that has created some fantastic maps and modes.
If you want to have a shot at testing out the Custom Game Browser for MCC, you'll need to register for a free Halo Insider account and then hope you are chosen for the beta. This is also the program through which 343 will select beta testers for Halo Infinite, so Halo fans may want to sign up sooner rather than later.
In other Halo news, 343 just announced a huge amount of information about Halo Infinite, covering weapons vehicles, post-launch support, and lots more.
