Those hoping for Halo Infinite Campaign DLC will be disappointed to learn that 343 Industries is focusing on the game's multiplayer.
From the looks of it, there won't be additional single-player content for the latest Halo installment as the development team isn't working on campaign content. At least, that's what 343 Industries' Community Director, Brian Jarrard, said in the latest Kinda Funny Podcast. In the podcast, Jarrard was asked if fans should still expect future DLC or campaign content to be added to the game.
"I'll be honest, we have nothing to announce today regarding any campaign content for Infinite", the Community Director said during the podcast. "I'll even go a step further and tell you that right now there's nothing in active development on that front."
He added that the decision to focus on Infinite's multiplayer mode has been made a year ago.
"We made the decision just over a year ago, to really double-down on improving the multiplayer product."
As such, don't expect additional campaign or single-player content for Halo Infinite - we guess you'll have to wait for a new Halo entry in order to enjoy a new campaign. Recent rumors appear to suggest that 343 Industries is currently working on a new Halo campaign within Unreal Engine 5. This rumored Unreal Engine-powered Halo entry won't be out before a couple of years from now. Here's what we wrote about Halo Infinite's campaign mode in our launch review back in 2021:
"Halo Infinite is, in my opinion, the best game of the series. While still faltering in the narrative, character development, and exposition, it improves earlier titles. Combat is entertaining and engaging, with improvements made across the board, but mention must go to new abilities like the grappling hook. The move to an open world helps the game stand apart, with added freedom to take the fight to your enemies and a vast arsenal of weapons and vehicles to bring into battle. While it slips up on a few occasions, from somebody who has never been part of the Halo fan club, this has given me a glimpse of what could be great things to come."
