The lineup of microtransaction options for Halo 5: Guardians is growing. 343 Industries has announced a new package called the Arena Req Bundle, which goes on sale February 16 for $25.
It comes with 14 Req packs in all, though they won't be released at the same time. You'll get two per week for seven weeks, 343 explained in a post on Halo Waypoint. This is how it also works for the Warzone Req Bundle, which also sells for $25 but has been available since Halo 5 launched in October 2015.
You're getting an assortment of armors, visors, and weapon skins, though you won't know exactly what's included since the content is randomized. 343 notes, too, that buying the premium pack increases your chance at getting rare Reqs like Mythic and Legendary items. On top of this, everyone who buys the new Arena Req bundle gets the Mark V Alpha armor set, which takes inspiration from Master Chief's armor as seen in Halo: Combat Evolved.
The Arena Req Bundle arrives February 16 and can only be purchased once per Xbox Live account. It will replace the Warzone Req Bundle as the "featured" bundle in Halo 5's in-game store, but you will still be able to buy it from places like Xbox.com and through the Xbox One dashboard.
This new Req bundle adds to Halo 5's existing lineup of microtransaction offers that range in price from $2-$100. You can see all of the offerings here on Halo 5's website.
Halo 5's microtransactions are big business. As of December 2015, they have pulled in more than $1 million. This is up from $700,000 as of November 19 and $500,000 as of November 5.
