GameArts' mech shooter Gungriffon II will reportedly come with two-player capability, GameSpot News has learned.
In vs. mode, players can connect two Saturns (no, not NetLink... but by hard-wiring the two consoles), and can battle with friends. This mode is quite different from the scenario mode: Battle is turn-based. The offensive side can attack its opponent about 40 seconds while the defensive side can only defend itself. But if the defensive side is able to lock on to the opponent for at least two seconds, the turn is over and now the defensive side goes on the offensive.
Initially, there are two maps available - if the player beats the game in scenario mode, there will be another map. And if the player has Gungriffon II's predecessor Gungriffon: The Urasian Conflict's save data, he can access the exclusive map.
Gungriffon II for the Saturn is slated for April 23.
