Activision stopped by the videogames.com offices the other day with its recently announced PlayStation RPG, Guardian's Crusade, in tow.
The title is a US adaptation of TamSoft's Knight & Baby and was initially using the moniker Guardian Legends until it was discovered an old Sega game already had that name. The game features a 3D polygonal world much like that seen in THQ's Granstream Saga and places the player in the role of a guardian of a young dragon.
The game's spell system comes in the form of magical toys collected during the duo's journey. Up to three of the devices can be used during a fight, and their effects vary greatly - from healing to destruction. The player must care for the dragon in a way similar to a Tamagotchi, praising him for discovering magical items and scolding him when he's bad. The creature also has the ability to morph into enemy monsters during battle to help you out. Guardian's Crusade is scheduled for a March '99 release.
