Normally, getting the green light to go off to war is met with trepidation from citizens. However, gamers couldn't be happier that a new batch of soldiers is one step closer to taking on Mexican rebels behind enemy lines.

Ubisoft has announced that Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for the Xbox 360 has gone gold and will be available in stores on March 8. Ubisoft has not updated the status on the PC, PlayStation Portable, or PlayStation 3 versions.
With today's news, the publisher also announced the game's achievement system. In-game achievements will be tracked and displayed by the game in a new menu. For example, the Helo Hunter achievement asks gamers to shoot down 20 helicopters in a particular game mode, and the tracking menu will let gamers know how far along they are in completing the objective.

Tom Salta, the composer of the score for the original GRAW, is back on board for the sequel. The music for the new game will feature more intense arrangements and was made with the help of the Hollywood Studio Symphony. Samples of the score are available at the game's Web site.
