The Gran Turismo Sport 1.08 Beta update has been deployed, which adds tyre wear and mechanical car damage to the game.
The update went live some days ago for beta users, and you can find a list of the main features included, down below:

Time penalties will now be incurred if collisions between cars take place under certain conditionsThe issue that caused camera settings to be reset when restarting a race has been fixedOther improvements and adjustments
Various issues have been addressed.Furthermore, after this patch has been applied, we are planning to hold races that feature tyre wear, fuel depletion, and car damage
