According to GamesIndustry, Sony Santa Monica's God of War game for PlayStation 4 managed to set a new franchise record when it comes to launch week sales in the United Kingdom.
Apparently, God of War managed to sell over 35% more units than God of War III, which previously retained the franchise record. It also surpassed Shadow of the Colossus, previously the biggest launch for a PlayStation 4 exclusive game this year.
Of course, this data doesn't even include digital sales which are massively growing these days. There's been no word yet from Sony but it's fair to expect an announcement on global sales soon.
This week also marked the debut of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. The game launched at the third spot (just after God of War and Far Cry 5) and it also beat the previous Yakuza franchise record for UK launch sales.
