God Of War TV Series Is Still In The Early Stages; It Will Keep The Values Of The Game While Expanding It-October 2024

It seems like it will take some time to finally see the recently announced God Of War TV series, as it is still in the early stages, as confirmed by the Sony Pictures President.

Speaking with Deadline earlier this month, Katherine Pope went over the series, confirming not only that it is still in the early stages but also that it is keeping all the values of the game while also expanding it so that the show will still be a satisfying one for those that have not played the game.

There's a lot of really important IP here, we're working on God of War, the PlayStation title, which is still in the early stages. I know the game pretty well, and I'm so impressed with what they're already doing in terms of building out that world and expanding, keeping all the values of the game but also expanding it so that if you don't know the game, it's still going to be a really satisfying show on its own.

This isn't the first time we heard the God Of War TV series will be faithful to the source material while expanding it in compelling ways. Back in December, Amazon Studios' Head of Television Vernon Sanders commented on the show, saying that people who never played the game will fall in love with the show and feel "very much invited in".

At the center of it all is this story of fathers and sons, and families, set against this giant epic landscape. So what Rafe Judkins and Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby have come up with for the first season, and for the series, I think, is both incredibly true to the source material and also compelling on its own. If you never played the game, you will fall in love with the show and feel very much invited in. So we think it's going to be huge.

While the God Of War TV series will go over the first game of the Norse arc, players can experience its closure right now with God Of War Ragnarok, which is one of the best action-adventure games released in recent times, as Agnese highlighted in her review. The game is now out on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 worldwide.
