Metal, dude.
Think you're the baddest Guitar Hero on the block? Prove it at one of the new Guitar Hero tournaments, sponsored by RedOctane--however, gamers won't be able to just show up in a denim jacket and ripped jeans.
The Guitar Hero Organized Underground League is a series of do-it-yourself contests--fans of the game organize all the details of the event. RedOctane doesn't specify exactly what constitutes a G.H.O.U.L. tournament, and so far only two sponsored events have been announced--one at Con on the Cob in Kent, Ohio, in early November, and one at SUNY Institute of Technology Frag Fest in Utica, New York, in late September.
Events that are granted sponsorship will be provided with "prizes and coupons for RedOctane products or services." To be considered for sponsorship, organizers must be at least 18 years of age, promote the tournament on at least five different Web sites and/or pertinent message boards, and promote RedOctane at the event.
Sponsorships are limited, so RedOctane recommends signing up for one soon at the G.H.O.U.L. Web site.
