Ubisoft just launched Ghost Recon Wildlands, a new open world third person shooter game focused on single player and cooperative multiplayer instead of competitive multiplayer like previous franchise entries.

　　According to Gfk Chart-Track, Ghost Recon Wildlands got the biggest first-week launch sales in the United Kingdom so far in 2017. The record for this year previously belonged to Horizon: Zero Dawn, which can still be found in second place in last week's Top 10.

　　However, Ubisoft and the Tom Clancy franchise still retain Tom Clancy's The Division overall record for launch week sales in Q1. LEGO Worlds debuts at third place and pushes The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to fourth.

　　Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V is still holding strong after all these years, with enough sales in the UK to place it in the fifth spot. NieR: Automata, the new action title by PlatinumGames, debuts at sixth place while the chart is completed by FIFA 17 (#7), Rocket League (#8), 1-2 Switch (#9) and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (#10).

　　The good news for the industry is that after the sales drop during the Holiday season, a wave of solid to excellent games (Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, For Honor, Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, NieR: Automata, Ghost Recon Wildlands) was more than enough to get back on track.
