Ghost Recon Wildlands Dev Diary Explores Authenticity-November 2024
Nov 2, 2024 5:31 AM

Ubisoft has released a new development diary for Ghost Recon: Wildlands

The video features Sam Strachman, narrative designer at Ubisoft Paris, as well as numerous developers from Red Storm, who created the original Ghost Recon titles.

The developers discuss their history with the Ghost Recon series and what their goals were with previous entries in the series.

Ubisoft Paris then go on to detail the research it is doing to create an authentic universe for Wildlands, while also introducing new elements to the series.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands was announced at E3 2015 and is the first ever open world game in the series. Ubisoft Paris has said it is the biggest open world Ubisoft has ever made.

Wildlands has reportedly been in development for more than three years. It will let players engage in solo missions, or in co-op with up to three others. It is set in Bolivia and--as discussed in the video--the team spent two weeks there for research.

Players will be able to traverse the massive open world by sea, air, or land with all kinds of vehicles. Wildlands is being built as a non-linear game, which its developer says is a designed to give "choices you make real, lasting consequences."

Ghost Recon: Wildlinds is being developed for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
