We haven’t seen or heard much of Sony and Sucker Punch’s open-world samurai game Ghost of Tsushima in some time. A short gameplay demo was shown at E3 2018, but, of course, Sony skipped E3 2019 and hasn’t given us a new look at the game at any events since. Well, don’t expect to be hacking and slashing any time soon – per Jason Schreier, who broke the news that The Last of Us Part II was being delayed earlier today, Ghost of Tsushima has also been pushed back.
Ghost of Tsushima has never had a solid release date, but, according to Schreier, the game was originally slated to come out in the first half of 2020. Now, in response to the TLOU2 delay, Ghost of Tsushima will be coming out in late 2020. It isn’t entirely clear if this is just a scheduling thing, or if Tsushima could use some more polish, but I’m sure Sucker Punch doesn’t mind the extra development time.
BTW, Ghost of Tsushima doesn't have a public release date yet, but it'll also be bumped later into 2020 to account for this delay. Don't expect them to suddenly turn it into a PS5 game or anything, but it was originally planned for the first half of the year - not anymore

It’s interesting that Schreier notes Ghost of Tsushima won’t be turning into a PS5 game, because following this delay its release will probably overlap with Sony's new console. At this point, it seems pretty unlikely it won’t at least be a cross-gen release – perhaps Sucker Punch will be spending their extra six months preparing a PS5 port?

Ghost of Tsushima will be a PS4 exclusive whenever it comes out. What are your thoughts? Will the game deliver when it finally arrives?
