The holiday season has finally arrived, and with the biggest shopping weekend already passed, you may have missed some key holiday bargains on video games. Stores were offering special packs of hardware and software over the weekend, some for only half the day on Friday. At Target, gamers could grab a Game Boy Pocket with Kirby's Block Ball for US$49 (the regular price of the unit with no extras).

　　Plus, if it's 16-bit gaming you want this holiday season, you don't have to search high and low to find it. The Super NES this weekend could be found at some stores for $49, or $59 with a Kirby's Super Star pack-in. These are pretty good prices for those who want an entry-level system this season.

　　If you've been holding off that purchase of the Sega 32X, it's dropped in price tremendously. Originally a system that should have been avoided like the plague, it can be found at some stores for sub-$20 levels with up to two games packed in. K-B Toys has the 32X plus Cosmic Carnage and Doom for $19.99. If the Jaguar's still up your alley (64-bit gaming at a price you can afford), it can be found for $39.99, with games running around the $10 level.

　　3DO games have also taken a dive, and you can land a new copy of Alone in the Dark for a mere 99 cents if you're lucky enough (you might try EB). SNES and Genesis games have been discounted heavily too.

　　Be sure to wear a warm coat for those long walks through the parking lot, and be prepared to wait in a few lines this season. But there are bargains to be had if you look hard enough.
