When Disney announced the fifth Indiana Jones movie, there was no word on whether or not creator George Lucas would be involved. Now, director Steven Spielberg has confirmed that indeed he will be in part because it would be "insane" for him to be left out.

　　"George is going to be an executive producer on it with me,” Spielberg said at a press event for his next movie, The BFG, according to CBR. "Of course--I would never make an Indiana Jones film without George Lucas. That would be insane."

　　For the fifth movie, which is scheduled to come out in summer 2019 and is currently without a title, Lucas "will be inputted in it," Spielberg went on to say.

　　Spielberg has directed every Indiana Jones movie to date. For his part, Lucas collaborated with Spielberg on Raiders of the Lost Ark and its three sequels.

　　As CBR points out, there was some question about whether or not Lucas would continue to work on the Indiana Jones series after selling it--along with Star Wars--to Disney in 2012. He was not involved in the production of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and in fact spoke out about the story, saying it strayed from his vision.

　　However, Spielberg said he thinks The Force Awakens is an "homage" to Episodes IV, V, and VI. "George Lucas's fingerprints are on The Force Awakens," he said. "George Lucas is all over The Force Awakens. Lest we ever forget that."

　　The new Indiana Jones movie hits theaters in July 2019. Harrison Ford, who will be 77 when the film opens, plays the role of the whip-wielding archaeologist. Fans of the series can expect even more films in the future, though Disney does not foresee a day when the Indiana Jones franchise becomes as big as Star Wars.
