Warsaw, Poland-based People Can Fly (Gears of War: Judgment, Bulletstorm, Painkiller) has been renamed Epic Games Poland, a representative for the company confirmed with Pixel Enemy today.
"We've changed the studio's name from People Can Fly to Epic Games Poland. We're a global company with talented people working toward one goal across the world," the representative said. "We think this helps better reflect that."
Epic Games currently owns and operates overseas studios in East Sussex, UK; Yokohama, Japan; Seoul, Korea; and Shanghai; China. The company has United States offices in Cary, North Carolina; Seattle, Washington; and Salt Lake City, Utah.
The representative also confirmed today that Epic Games Poland is one of multiple studios working on upcoming PC sandbox survival game Fortnite.
Announced in December 2011, Fortnite--described by Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney as "Minecraft meets Left 4 Dead"--does not have a release date. Epic Games has not provided an update on the game in some time after it had no presence at E3 in June, Gamescom in August, or the Tokyo Game Show in September.
