GBA/DS MP3 player gets Euro release
GBA/DS MP3 player gets Euro release-April 2024
Apr 5, 2025 3:29 PM

Last month Nintendo DS users in Europe were able to start surfing the Net from their portable; this month, they can also use the device to listen to music. The Nintendo DS MP3 Player works with both the original DS and the DS Lite and, as the name suggests, it lets gamers take a break from button mashing to listen to some tunes.

Users will transfer MP3s from a PC onto an SD card (bought separately--a 512MB SD card holds approximately 150 MP3s), which they can then insert into the Nintendo MP3 Player cartridge. The titles of the songs will then show up and can be selected on the DS screen.

The MP3 Player is also compatible with the Game Boy Advance SP and Game Boy Micro. It will be released in Europe on December 8, with an approximate price of £20 ($38.) Nintendo did not comment on US and Australian release dates for the product.
