Online game service provider Garena has announced that it will be launching a Malaysian e-sports tournament stretching from April until December this year.
The tournament is called the Malaysia Heroes of Newerth National Championship 2012. Qualifiers will be held for the next eight months starting from April and will be hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Perak, Johor, and Sarawak. The grand finals will be held in December where the winning team will get RM300,000 ($99,817) in cash. The finals will also be held in conjunction with the Garena Malaysia Carnival, an annual event that focuses on the company's stable of games.
The last Garena Malaysia Carnival was held at Berjaya Times Square theme park in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on December 17 and 18. For more information on Heroes of Newerth, check out GameSpot's recent coverage on the title.
