Kesmai's GameStorm on Wednesday announced that it has picked up the US distribution rights for Headland Digital Media's online combat title, netWAR.
Originally launched in the retail and online channels back in November 1997, netWar focuses on real-time online combat where players take on one another in hand-to-hand combat or in teams. Up to 30 players can compete at once in the arcade-style action title.
The process in moving netWAR over to the GameStorm service has been in the works for several months. If you are already a netWAR member, you will still have unlimited play for a full year at no extra charge.
If you're new to the series, netWarriors assume one of four identities in the game, each with unique weapons and a choice of four battle modes. During gameplay, players can occupy ten different vehicles including jetpacks, tanks, patrol boats, and napalm-equipped helicopters. Kesmai will bring more to the game with the promise of better support, more identities to choose from, and more weapons.
