GameStop is likely to see a surge in revenue during the holiday shopping season, but the retailer is also planning to give back.

　　GameStop today announced a partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with a goal to raise at least $500,000 for the annual Thanks & Giving campaign.

　　The effort raises funds for children battling childhood cancer and other diseases. Almost a decade after its inception, the Thanks & Giving campaign has raised over $387 million. 2013 marks the first year that GameStop is participating.

　　"Being a father of six children, I can honestly say that the work St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is doing is nothing short of miraculous," GameStop president Tony Bartel said in a statement. "I have no doubt that we will exceed our goal this year and I'm looking forward to a long and successful partnership with St. Jude."

　　GameStop customers can support the Thanks & Giving campaign beginning November 6 by donating $1 to children at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the point of sale. The campaign runs through December 24.

　　GameStop is one of numerous retail partners for the 2013 Thanks & Giving campaign. Others include Best Buy, Target, Coca-Cola, and Dick's Sporting Goods, among others.
