Microsoft kicked off GameStock 2000 today by opening its annual press-only convention in Seattle. The company has announced a number of new products at the show, including MechWarrior 4, the next in the line of FASA Interactive's giant-robot combat simulations.
Microsoft had a number of other games on display as well. The company showed the next games in the Madness driving series, Midtown Madness 2 and Motocross Madness 2, as well as the next golf and baseball games, Links 2001 and MS Baseball 2001. Microsoft also showed off a number of new gaming peripherals, including the Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 stick, the Sidewinder Strategic Commander (designed specifically for real-time strategy games), and the Sidewinder Game Voice, a stereo headset for real-time game chat over a LAN or the Internet.
