With Valentine's Day placed right smack in the middle, February is the time for hardware. Hardware that blings so bright, it's blinding. The GameSpot staff is back this week with a new edition of GameSpotting that'll make your eyes pop like the New England Patriots' championship rings would. If you think you can roll with us, dive into our journals for our thoughts, and then do us one better and write something in yours.
If you'd like to be featured in a future GameSpotting, create a profile, if you haven't already done so, and then start writing in your journal and begin reviewing all your games! You can review any already released game by visiting its gamespace and then clicking the "Review This Game" button on the right sidebar. You can also submit your reader review or journal entry for consideration by e-mailing a link to the features editor.
Be Careful What You Wish For
Greg Kasavin/Executive Editor
"We love accusing game publishers and developers of being averse to exploring new territory in their games. But aren't we the ones to blame?"
Maybe It Will Cook Breakfast After the Next Firmware Update
Ryan Mac Donald/Executive Producer
"See how a PSP can be used on a day to day basis, and how it might be used in the future."
Kick out the Jams, Mother******
Alex Navarro/Associate Editor
"Original music doesn't always have to be the same old, stodgy, pseudo-orchestral hoo-ha that tends to dominate game soundtracks, either."
Put Me in the Coach, Game!
Brian Ekberg/Sports Editor
"After falling out of fashion over the past few years, coach modes seem to be on the comeback trail."
PlayStation Portable?
Ricardo Torres/Senior Editor
"I'm pretty torn about the subject of ports on the PSP. While I'm usually not a fan of dirty porting, I wouldn't mind seeing some old favorites get a portable makeover."
Saturnalia
Matthew Rorie/Game Guides Editor
"The Saturn was really the last console to have arcade ports as its bread and butter, most of which were Sega's finest arcade titles."
Love Is Like a Game of Tetris
Bob Colayco/Features Editor
"Putting your life in order after a breakup is a lot like Tetris."
Widescreen World
Bethany Massimilla/Community Manager
"I'd been longing for a widescreen monitor ever since I saw Brad prance his paladin around on a prototype gaming laptop with a wide-aspect screen."
Dink and Dunk
Rich Gallup/Features Producer, GameSpot Live
"There's no way any self-respecting Sox fan will pick up a game with Jeter on the cover, especially with games featuring Manny and Big Papi right next to it on the shelf."
Nintendo's Date for the pROM
scomer/GuestSpotter
"The retro gaming explosion of ROMs could easily be converted into a legitimate industry, but time is running out. It needs to be shaped in its infancy."
Featured Community Review - Oddworld Stranger's Wrath
Stereolite/Featured Reviewer
"Oddworld Stranger's Wrath is a unique combination of a first-person shooter and a third-person adventure game, with a little bit of Luigi's Mansion thrown in as well."
I Need to Get With the Times
Mr. T/Pities The Fool
"I've got the bling, but it's old-school gold, not platinum. I need to get with the times and update my wardrobe. In the meantime, I can do like all the other cool kids and post in my journal."
