GameSpot is teaming up with Major League Gaming to showcase competitive gaming and eSports at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. Professional players in Starcraft 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and last year's Mortal Kombat will battle it out in exhibition matches at the GameSpot booth, broadcast live all weekend long in HD on GameSpot.com.
TeamLiquid will have a retinue of Starcraft 2 pros showing their skills at E3 this year.
The competitive gaming will kick off E3 on June 5th with TeamLiquid.net's Starcraft 2 players Tyler Wasieleski, Jos "Ret" De Kroon, Shawn "Sheth" Simon, and Choi "Zenio" Jung Min battling it out in both 1v1 and 2v2 matches.
The second day of E3 will showcase the latest Mortal Kombat with a rematch of the MLG Fighter Arena finals, as defending champion Emmanuel "CDjr" Brito will take on Alexander "DetroitBalln" Rayis. Commentary will be provided by pro player and caster Bill "Tom Brady" Menoutis.
On the last day of the show, attendees will get a sneak peak of the competition they may see in Black Ops 2, as players Joseph "Merk" Deluca, Raymond "Rambo" Lussier, Tosh "Stainville" McGruder-Cummings and Matt "Nadeshot" Haag will go toe-to-toe in the original Black Ops. Commentary will be provided by Alex "Goldenboy" Mendez, a staple in Call of Duty commentary.
"I'm really excited to play at E3", TeamLiquid's Starcraft 2 player Ret said. "I feel like it's the players' direct responsibility to play awesome games and get more people into SC2! I also always used to read about E3 as a kid and I've always wanted to go so it's pretty exciting on a personal level as well."
MLG personality Joshua "Clutch" Gray will host the event. The live stream will begin on June 5th at 1 PM PST.
