Gamescom 2016 Already Breaks Records – Day Tickets for Private Visitors Are Completely Sold Out-September 2024
Sep 23, 2024 1:16 AM

Gamescom 2016 is already breaking records, three weeks before its opening. In a press release just sent out by the organizers, it was revealed that day tickets for private visitors have been completely sold out; not only that, but it never happened so quickly in the past.

Don't worry though, you can still buy afternoon tickets at the box office on site with the following caveats.

Sales and admission will start at around 2:00 p.m. Queues are to be expected, because admission to the fair grounds depends on the individual departures of the visitors. Experience has shown that the first visitors tend to leave the exhibition halls at around midday. So the chances of gaining admission are good and rise from approx. 2:00 p.m. onwards. To process admissions efficiently and in order to keep waiting times at the ticket outlets as short as possible, holders of valid day tickets are requested to use the entrance at Hall 11 and to take note of the signage. Talking of valid day tickets: Parties interested in purchasing a private visitor day ticket - which are already sold-out in the gamescom online Ticket Shop - may be able to buy one at Saturn: there are still a few tickets available in selected branches.

The organization of Gamescom 2016 decided to reserve a number of tickets for families. Family tickets are still available for Thursday, Friday and Sunday, but the press release stressed that these are in 'high demand' and will be sold on a 'first come, first serve' basis.

Trade visitors, on the other hand, can still pick up daily tickets for Wednesday/Thursday/Friday or 3-day tickets both at the online shop and box office. Gamescom 2016 takes place at Cologne's Koelnmesse as usual and will be open to the public from August 18 to 21, but trade visitors (including the press) will get access from Wednesday, August 17.
