Microsoft is rocking the showfloor right now at Gamescom 2015 which is currently underway in Cologne, Germany. The publisher has a lot to show in its 90-minute long briefing, and one of the games that everyone has been desperately waiting to see in action is finally on stage. Quantum Break, one of the most anticipated upcoming Xbox One exclusive game, finally has a release date. Microsoft has announced that the third-person shooter action game will be out next year on April 5.
The changes in strategy made gamers speculate that Quantum Break will meet big changes now if it is to be released for the new console, but creative director Sam Lake later revealed that the title is still not just a game alone, as its gaming sections will be blended with a live-action TV show aspect. The live-action part of the game remains in development despite the Xbox Entertainment Studios being shut down last year. The game will take players through the story of heroes while the show will put on a story about the villians.
The time-twisting action game was previously expected to land in the marker in 2015, but the release was later shifted to 2016 to clear some room for other triple A Xbox One-exclusive video games including Halo 5: Guardians and Forza Motorsport. Not much has been revealed about the game in terms of visual content and in-game details since the game’s debut. However, today at its Gamescom 2015 briefing, Microsoft presented a breathtaking gameplay demo of the game along with a live-action trailer from the TV show. You can check them both out below.
Following the release date announcement, the developer behind the game, Remedy Entertainment, also released box art and a brand new batch of screenshots showcasing both the game and the TV series. You can check out the main protagonist and jawdropping in-game visuals and texture detail in the screenshots shared in the gallery below.
