Digita-technology has developed an emulator that allows games to be played on most standard digital cameras. MAME and MESS are two technologies that run under the Digita OS, which is used by most of today's digital cameras. These technologies have been harnessed to allow games that are not highly memory intensive to be emulated by the operating system used in the cameras.
Versions of Donkey Kong, Ms. Pacman, Pacman, and most prominently Doom are now available for download to digital cameras. The games can be played on the color-LCD screens of the digital video cams. GameSpot got its hands on several images of these games being played on a digital cam, and you can check them out by clicking on the image-link to the left. For further information, you can visit Digita-technology's web site. Information on camera compatibility is listed on the site.
Additionally, it is possible that other emulation programs will also be developed for a digital cameras. The screen shots are taken from games running on a Kodak DC265 digital camera, which uses the Digita OS.
